Pinterest has been one of my favorite apps for years. I appreciate its vast range of content across various categories like cooking, decoration, art, and design. The inspirations are diverse and incredibly useful, though I must admit I don’t fully explore all the potential the app offers.
Recently, however, I’ve encountered a few frustrating issues that I hope Pinterest addresses soon. First, there’s a problem with audio in some videos. Messages like “Audio not available in your region” have started appearing since the latest update. Previously, all videos played audio perfectly, so this change has been disappointing. I really hope the developers fix this in an upcoming update.
Another issue is the pins on my homepage. Today, when I opened the app, the suggested pins were completely unrelated to my interests. I tried updating my preferences, but nothing changed—my feed remained the same. It’s annoying, as the recommended pins used to align perfectly with what I wanted to see.
Additionally, Pinterest seems to be losing some of its charm. There are more sponsored pins for products than the tutorial-rich content I loved before. My homepage often doesn’t refresh, and I keep seeing the same pins repeatedly. On top of that, I’m now being offered content I have no interest in, like footballers or unrelated fashion tips.
It feels like the algorithms are out of sync, and I miss the Pinterest that once felt like a perfectly tailored experience. I still love the app, but these issues make it less enjoyable. Hopefully, these problems will be resolved soon, as Pinterest has the potential to remain an incredible source of inspiration.
